Networking Meeting (11-1pm)

We will hear updates from Network members about current projects and achievements.

Dave Warren of Alternative Resolution to Conflict (ARC) will share the outcomes of Learning Communities for Peace (LCP), a "bottom-up"action research project which has worked in five schools in Sweden, Greece, Croatia and Peterborough. Dave will explore the interaction of schools with their community, schools with diverse student intakes, the effects of migration on schools and developing 'grass roots' conflict resolution strategies in school.

Skillshare (2-4pm): Becoming a peace-building school

Learn how your restorative work can be extended and enhanced through a focus on peace. In this workshop, Terence will take participants through the Everyday Peace Indicators methodology. He will also present the findings from his research, revealing the lessons learned about how a focus on peace can be useful for school development.

 

Terence Bevington

Leader and author in restorative practice in education settings in his native UK Terence has combined his passion for peace with his interest in evaluation in his doctoral research where he has implemented the groundbreaking Everyday Peace Indicators methodology in four high schools.. Terence co-authored the book ‘Positive Peace in Schools’

Originally trained by Margaret Thorsborne, Terence has spent the last 12 years supporting schools and other education settings across the UK and Europe.
